Thérèse Fahy

Dublin-born pianist Thérèse Fahy is renowned for her dynamic performing and teaching career, with acclaimed recitals and concerto appearances across Europe, the U.S., and broadcasts for RTÉ and BBC. A specialist in French piano music, she has performed Debussy’s complete solo works and curated The Snow is Dancing, a documentary on his life and music for RTÉ Lyric FM.

Thérèse has premiered works by Olivier Messiaen in Ireland, including Réveil des Oiseaux and Visions de l’Amen, and curated the Messiaen Festival at the National Gallery of Ireland in 2001. Her solo performances of Messiaen have been described as a “tour de force” by The Irish Times.

She frequently serves on international piano competition juries and has toured internationally with solo recitals, masterclasses, and lecture-recitals. Notable projects include Handprint, a collection of commissioned Irish piano works premiered at the New Music Dublin Festival, and Ireland's Tombeau to Debussy, a 2018 festival celebrating Debussy with new works by Irish composers.

A graduate of Trinity College Dublin and a Fulbright and French Government scholar, Thérèse Fahy is a senior professor at the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
