Julie Maisel
Julie Maisel received her Doctor of Music and Master of Music in Music Performance from Florida State University, and her Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. Since 2005 she has been a lecturer in flute performance at the Technological University Dublin’s Conservatory of Music and Drama. She facilitates the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland Audition Training Workshops and is the flute tutor with the Young Orchestral Pops. She has taught in Leeson Park School of Music, Walton's New School of Music and Newpark Music Centre. Dr Maisel is a member of Kid's Classics and has been involved with the Learn and Explore Programme through the National Concert Hall. She has served as adjudicator for the Yamaha Winds and Brass Scholarship Finals and for the Interschools Music Festival in Wesley College. She currently serves as the National Flute Associations International Liaison for Ireland and has had articles published in the following professional journals, Flute Talk and Flutist’s Quarterly.
Maisel, an active soloist and chamber musician, has presented numerous recitals throughout Dublin and Ireland. She has performed in the John Field Room of the National Concert Hall and with the RTE National Symphony Orchestra, the Pro Arte Orchestra, the Opera Theatre Company, the Irish Film Orchestra, the Dublin Sound Lab, and the Irish Baroque Orchestra. She has also performed in the 2013 and 2018 National Flute Conventions in the US.
